Trump Roasts ‘Absolute Disaster’ White House Correspondents’ Dinner

After the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday evening, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to give a scathing review of the event.

The dinner in Washington, D.C., was headlined by “Saturday Night Live” cast member Colin Jost, who praised President Joe Biden for bringing “decency” to the White House and attacked Trump.

In a Truth Social post, Trump asserted that Jost did a terrible job of hosting and Biden was a “disaster” during the event.

“The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was really bad. Colin Jost BOMBED, and Crooked Joe was an absolute disaster! Doesn’t get much worse than this!” the post read.

Biden took a few failed jabs at his likely 2024 rival during the event, unsuccessfully trying to turn Trump’s “Sleepy Joe” nickname back on him, calling him “Sleepy Don.” The president also made comments about the various political persecutions against Trump, many of which have been alleged to be attempted election interference by the Biden administration to prevent Biden from losing his rematch with Trump.

The president also tried to make light of serious concerns from voters about his advanced age and cognitive decline.

“The 2024 election is in full swing and, yes, age is an issue. I’m a grown man running against a 6-year-old,” Biden said. “Well I feel great. I really feel great.”

Of course, Biden also made time to push the left’s new favorite attacks, calling Trump a threat to democracy and warning about so-called “disinformation.”

Almost immediately after the “disinformation” quip, Biden proceeded to push disinformation about his opponent, taking Trump’s previous statements out of context to smear him.

“The defeated former President has made no secret of his attack on our democracy he said he wants to be a dictator on day one and so much more. He tells supporters he is the revenge and retribution. When in God’s name ever heard of another president say something like that? And he promised a bloodbath when he loses again,” Biden lied.

Jost did get some jokes in about Biden during the event, making light of Biden’s struggle to retain support among the Black community.

“My ‘Weekend Update’ co-anchor Michael Che was going to join me here tonight but in solidarity with President Biden I decided to lose all my black support,” he said.

He then quickly moved on to praising Biden and attacking Trump, stating at one point, “It’s after 10 p.m. ‘Sleepy Joe’ is still awake while Donald Trump has spent the past week falling asleep in court every morning — though Fox News said he was just being anti-woke.”

In praising Biden, Jost became sentimental while speaking about his late grandfather, Staten Island firefighter William Kelly, who voted for Biden in 2020.

“He voted for you and the reason that he voted for you is because you’re a decent man. My grandpa voted for decency and decency is why we’re all here tonight,” he said, ignoring the blatant lack of decency that has been a hallmark of Biden’s presidency — which included LGBT activists getting half-naked at a White House event, cocaine being found in the White House, politicized and weaponized federal agencies targeting Biden’s opponents, the refusal to allow Christian symbolism during a White House Easter event and a myriad of other scandals.
