Following President Joe Biden’s announcement to step down from the 2024 presidential race, President Donald Trump launched a series of sharp criticisms. Biden, citing the need to focus on his current responsibilities, decided to withdraw, prompting Trump to react strongly.
Trump took to Truth Social, stating, “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was!” He alleged that Biden’s presidency was achieved through deceit and media bias, emphasizing that Biden “only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement.”
Trump further criticized Biden’s handling of border security, attributing increased crime and terrorist threats to his policies. “Look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists,” Trump wrote. He promised swift action to address these issues if re-elected, reinforcing his commitment to “Make America Great Again.”
In a CNN interview, Trump labeled Biden the “single worst president by far in the history of our country.” This intense criticism reflects Trump’s belief that Biden’s withdrawal was necessary and underscores his disapproval of Biden’s leadership.
With Biden stepping down, Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to lead as the Democratic nominee. The 2024 election landscape is set for a fierce contest, with Trump positioning himself as the candidate ready to rectify the perceived failures of the Biden administration.
