Reid Hoffman Backs Biden Despite Debate Struggles

Following President Joe Biden’s recent debate against former President Donald Trump, influential Democrat donor Reid Hoffman has reaffirmed his support for Biden despite his clear cognitive shortcomings. Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, addressed the concerns raised by Biden’s performance in a message to Democrat voters, politicians, and fellow donors.

In his email, Hoffman conceded that Biden’s debate performance was subpar, but he dismissed the idea of pressuring Biden to exit the race. He described the notion as misguided, despite acknowledging that the debate had amplified worries about Biden’s age and capabilities.

Hoffman emphasized that Biden’s age appeared more prominently than Trump’s, contributing to a negative perception among viewers. He noted that Biden struggled during the debate, appearing confused and speaking with a hoarse voice. Despite these issues, Hoffman believes it is unwise to consider replacing Biden at this stage.

Hoffman argued that Biden is the rightful nominee and that any decision to step down should be left to him and his family. He suggested that public pressure could backfire, reinforcing Biden’s determination to stay in the race. Hoffman pointed out that the debate did not introduce new concerns about Biden, stating that the dynamics and stakes of the race remain unchanged.

Hoffman also mentioned Biden’s rally in North Carolina, where the President displayed energy and effectively countered Trump’s rhetoric. He noted that Biden tends to recover well from poor performances, which has been a pattern throughout his career.

Highlighting Biden’s presidential qualities, Hoffman stressed that being a good leader is not solely about debate skills. He praised Biden for having the right values, instincts, and courage, supported by a strong team. In contrast, Hoffman criticized Trump as a narcissistic figure whose presidency was marked by corruption and chaos.

Hoffman remains confident in Biden’s ability to win the election, despite the challenges. He reiterated his commitment to supporting Biden, believing that the President is capable of overcoming his recent setbacks and ultimately securing a second term in office.
