Indiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting Exorcism On Coworker

Police in Avon, Indiana, apprehended a man covered in blood after he allegedly broke into a coworker’s home to perform an exorcism. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning and has left the community bewildered.

Around 1:30 a.m., the Avon Police Department received a call about a possible burglary on Fir Lane. The homeowner reported that someone had broken into their house and was screaming. When officers arrived, they found a white Toyota Prius running in the driveway and were informed by the homeowner that “Robbie” was inside.

Upon ordering the man out of the house, 38-year-old Robert Nalker emerged, covered in blood. He told the officers, “I lost my sunglasses too,” and explained, “I had to break in the window. I have to do an exorcism here tonight.” Nalker, a Chick-fil-A coworker of the homeowner, claimed the woman was possessed.

The homeowner, who has known Nalker since 2002, revealed that he had recently sent her a strange message about avoiding Spotify. While being detained, Nalker continued to insist on the woman’s possession and asked police to “play track number 3 to save her.”

Inside the house, officers found evidence of a break-in, including a shattered window and a trail of blood leading to the kitchen. They also discovered a bloody CD and CD case. In the basement, blood was used to write an illegible word starting with the letter R on a projection screen, and more blood was found on a couch.

Nalker was transported to Hendricks Regional Health in Danville for a mental evaluation. He has been charged with residential entry, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct but was not formally arrested.

Avon, a town near Indianapolis with a population of about 12,000, is dealing with the aftermath of this disturbing event. The incident highlights the need for mental health support and awareness in preventing such occurrences.
