Trump Supports Texas Defying Biden To Secure Southern Border

Former President Donald Trump recently indicated he would support Texas’s plan to defy the Biden administration and secure the southern border by continuing to install razor wire in areas where illegal immigrants try and cross into the U.S. This comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Border Patrol agents could cut or move through barbed wire along the border.

On Truth Social, the former president issued a scathing rebuke of the Biden administration for the ongoing crisis at the southern border. Trump said Biden “is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States.”

“Instead of fighting to protect our Country from this onslaught, Biden is, unbelievably, fighting to tie the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas, so that the Invasion continues unchecked,” the former president added.

“In the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution, and must be given full support to repel the invasion,” he continued.

Trump then called on states across the U.S. to deploy their state National Guard to Texas to deter illegal immigration.

“All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety, Security, and Sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people,” the former president said.

“When I am President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion, Seal the Border, and Rapidly Begin the Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History,” he added.

Since President Joe Biden took office, the U.S. has been subjected to a wave of illegal immigration at the southern border. The president’s lax border policies have caused fentanyl to pour into the country, which has killed over 100,000 Americans.

Biden’s refusal to enact border security measures has led states across the U.S., such as Texas, to take matters into their own hands.

In 2021, the Lone Star State launched Operation Lone Star, involving the efforts of the Texas National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety to mitigate the disaster at the southern border.

Before Trump’s statement, 25 states in the U.S. announced they would stand in solidarity with Abbott in his fight to tackle illegal immigration at the southern border.
