RNC Plans Remain Firm Despite Trump Assassination Attempt

In spite of the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the Republican National Convention (RNC) will proceed as planned. Trump, who was shot in the ear by a gunman identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, assured supporters that he is fine and remains committed to attending the convention in Milwaukee.

Witnesses reported that the shooter was on a rooftop outside the secured area and fired multiple shots toward Trump. Despite the chaos, the Secret Service neutralized the threat swiftly. The FBI is leading the investigation, urging anyone with information to come forward.

RNC officials emphasized their resolve to continue with the convention. “The convention will continue as planned,” a senior Republican official told CNN. “President Trump looks forward to joining you all in Milwaukee as we proceed with our convention to nominate him to serve as the 47th President of the United States.”

Trump shared his experience on Truth Social, saying, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear… Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!” He also expressed condolences for the person killed in the incident.

The Secret Service’s response has come under scrutiny, with questions about their preparedness and ability to prevent such threats. Nonetheless, the RNC’s decision to move forward highlights their determination to support Trump and their political agenda, undeterred by the recent events.
