Kristi Noem Confirms DHS Crackdown On Leakers Who Compromised ICE Raids

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced that her department has identified individuals responsible for leaking classified information that disrupted an ICE operation. The leaks exposed details of an immigration enforcement action in Los Angeles, leading to protests and giving criminals time to avoid capture.

Noem, appearing on Fox News, stressed that these leaks endangered law enforcement officers and would not go unpunished. “We are identifying them, and they will be fired,” she stated, making it clear that those who undermined operations would face consequences.

She explained that DHS has been using various investigative tools, including polygraph tests and internal communication reviews, to track down the leakers. “We have used every tool available to us,” Noem said, adding that bureaucrats with anti-enforcement agendas were being exposed.

The leaks came amid a renewed push by President Donald Trump’s administration to restore strict immigration enforcement policies. ICE agents, once restricted under Biden-Harris directives, have been given full authority to detain and deport criminal illegal immigrants. However, opposition from leftist activists and local officials in sanctuary cities remains a major hurdle.

During her interview, Noem also addressed concerns about whether leaking this type of information constitutes a crime. “Absolutely,” she responded when asked, making it clear that prosecutions are on the table.

DHS has yet to reveal details about how many individuals have been identified or what agencies they worked for, but Noem assured that the investigation would continue until all leakers are removed.
