Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Showdown Delayed by Tyson’s Health Scare

The boxing community was left in shock as the much-talked-about fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was postponed due to Tyson’s recent health scare. The 57-year-old boxing icon suffered an ulcer flare-up that severely impacted his ability to train and prepare for the fight against the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s boxing promotion company, announced the postponement, with the new date for the fight set to be revealed on June 7th. The bout was originally scheduled for July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

Tyson, who hasn’t had a professional fight since 2005, released a statement thanking his fans for their support and understanding. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s, and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end, you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good,” Tyson said.

Paul, who has a 9-1 boxing record, with five wins against fighters who were debuting, also released a statement expressing his support for the postponement. “I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night. My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake – when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish,” Paul said.

While some argue that this fight is nothing more than a gimmick to generate revenue, others believe it crosses a line, given Tyson’s age and the fact that he hasn’t won a professional boxing match since 2003, when Jake Paul was just six years old.

Joke: Looks like Mike Tyson’s ulcer flare-up was a real “sucker punch” to Jake Paul’s plan to inflate his boxing record!
