Illegal Immigrant Kills St. Louis Officer, Highlighting Biden-Harris Border Failures

The tragic death of St. Louis Police Officer David Lee, struck and killed by a suspected illegal immigrant, has brought new attention to the consequences of the Biden-Harris administration’s failure to secure the southern border. Ramon Chavez-Rodriguez, a 24-year-old illegal immigrant, hit Officer Lee while he was working a crash site on Interstate 70.

Chavez-Rodriguez, who was on probation for previous domestic assault and DWI charges, was speeding at 71 mph in a 55 mph zone and had a blood alcohol level of .10 when he struck Lee. Officer Lee was pinned between Chavez-Rodriguez’s vehicle and another, leaving behind a grieving family and a mourning police force.

This is not an isolated incident. Illegal immigrant crime has surged across the country, particularly in states like Texas, which has tracked these crimes for over a decade. Between 2011 and 2024, over 312,000 illegal noncitizens were booked for violent crimes in Texas alone, including 1,604 murders and more than 9,000 sexual assaults.

Critics argue that the Biden-Harris administration’s open-border policies have directly contributed to this growing crime wave. If the border were secure, criminals like Chavez-Rodriguez wouldn’t be in the country, and Officer Lee might still be alive today.

The Biden-Harris administration’s refusal to enforce immigration laws is costing American lives. Officer Lee’s death should serve as a wake-up call to leaders who prioritize open borders over the safety of the American people.
