House Intelligence Committee Chair Claims ‘Radical Individuals’ Paralyzing Government

Rep. Michael Turner (R-OH) said that members of the House with an ideology of “chaos” are paralyzing the U.S. government, according to the Daily Caller.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Turner made the claim on the CBS News show “Face The Nation” on Sunday. Turner was lamenting about Republicans who have announced they are retiring or resigning from Congress.

“This obviously is very unfortunate,” Turner said. “This has been a very strange time period, where we see that the – the Senate is at 50/50. We see the House at 50/50. Even the presidential race has run basically at 50/50. It’s almost unfolding that way perhaps again.”

“And it shows that we can have radical fringes, even radical individuals who don’t really have an ideology or an agenda, other than chaos, that can cause disruptions,” Turner continued.

“And that’s what we have seen. That certainly makes it difficult for people who just want to get the job done. In the area of national security, I think Speaker Johnson’s made it, you know, very clear that he — we have his support to get national security agenda items done. And I think we will,” he concluded.

The host of the show, Ed O’Keefe, attempted to get Turner to turn on presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump for selling the God Bless the USA Bible.

“You mentioned it is Easter Sunday,” O’Keeffe said. “You said you’ve been to church this morning. I got to ask, President Trump this past last week unveiled what he calls the ‘God Bless the USA Bible’ which not only has the words of scripture in it but also the text of the Constitution the Bill of Rights and a few other things.”

“Do you think it’s appropriate for the former president, for the likely Republican nominee to be selling such a product?” O’Keefe asked.

Turner wasn’t having it and turned the table on O’Keefe.

“I think I’m more concerned about the White House restricting the ability of children to put religious symbols on Easter eggs for the Easter egg roll at the White House,” Turner said.
“You know,” he added, “I’m glad that CBS gives people the right to express their religious freedom.”

“I can’t imagine that we’re in a situation where the Biden White House is restricting, especially that of children,” Turner continued, “their ability to express their religious freedom.”

Bibles and religious freedom go hand in hand in America. Turner might have asked O’Keefe what in heaven or America would be inappropriate about the “God Bless the USA Bible.”
