Democrat Strategist James Carville Calls For ‘Slanted Coverage’ Against Trump

James Carville, a prominent, leftist Democratic strategist, lashed out at the media this week, urging them to adopt an even more biased approach when reporting on President Donald Trump. Carville’s comments came in response to New York Times executive editor Joe Kahn’s statement last month expressing the newspaper’s commitment to fairness in the upcoming election and its desire to avoid becoming “a propaganda arm for a single candidate.”

In an interview on Thursday, Carville argued that in times of “great peril” or when the “moral imperative is so significant,” the media should abandon objectivity. He criticized Kahn’s stance, saying, “I don’t think that’s the role of the news media at a time when the entire Constitution is in peril. I don’t have anything against slanted coverage. I really don’t … I would have something against it at most other times in American history, but not right now. F*** your objectivity.”

Carville also took issue with the media’s coverage of the criminal charges faced by President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, and the bias concerns surrounding the judge who presided over Trump’s criminal trial in Manhattan. He described those in the media as “extremely naive people who have no idea what’s at stake in this election.”

The Democratic strategist emphasized his belief in the need for “more slanted coverage,” stating that the “entire MAGA movement, from Alito and Trump on down is a serious, clear and present danger to the existence of the Constitution in the United States.”
