Biden And Harris Never Met With Former Border Chief

Former U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz was the man in charge of securing our southern border from June 2021 until his retirement in 2023. But despite the stressful nature of his job, Ortiz says President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris never met with him or communicated with him.

Over 8 million immigrants have crossed over the southern border and into the United States illegally ever since Joe Biden took office on January 20, 2021.

It’s no secret that the border is far from secure. But Ortiz had to manage thousands of border patrol agents during his tenure, which was one of the most unstable times at the border in American history.

He was in charge when 15,000 Haitians camped out under Texas’ Del Rio Bridge in September 2021, as well as when Title 42 ended in May 2023.

Title 42 was the extension of the 1944 Public Health Act, and was in place under President Trump in an aim to stop the spread of Covid-19.

But Raul Ortiz managed thousands of border patrol agents and apparently never received any guidance from those at the top.

“I commanded 21,000 people. That’s a problem,” he said.

Although Ortiz’s strongest measures of criticism are for President Biden and Vice President Harris, he’s also not happy with the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott. And he’s not the only one. He’s frustrated with the fact that everyone is playing political games with the crisis, instead of solving the problem.

“When agencies are making a decision based upon politics or whether they’re going to get media coverage, hey, we’re going to put all our personnel in this two-mile stretch. What about the other 200 miles?”

While Texas and Washington D.C. spar over the immigration problem, Ortiz sees one clear winner in this whole scenario. And it isn’t the American people.

“The cartels, the criminal organizations, that’s who’s winning in all of this. They’re sitting back reaping all the benefits while they watch the state of Texas and Washington D.C. go at it,” he said.
